Digital Production is the capstone class in computer art in the New Media Academy. Students learn Macromediia Director, Adobe After Effects, Apple Final Cut Pro, DigiDesign ProTools, Propellerhead Reason, and other software aimed at producing digital imaging products. Students produce a number of projects centered on digital video. Often students from this class work on projects for companies and organizations within the Hollywood community, gaining professional-level experience while producing work destined for the the real world. This class is run like a college class, in that students are given a great deal of freedom and responsibility in their work, but are then expected to perform at an advanced level. The prerequisites of the class are Digital Imaging 1 & 2, and the permission of the instructor. Students normally enter this class in the Fall of their Senior (12th grade) year. |
